Moscow's mayor said Ukraine launched more than 650 drones toward the capital overnight, while the regional governor said two people were killed and homes were damaged.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Ukraine launched more than 650 drones toward the capital overnight, most of which were shot down. Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said two people were killed.
Reuters reported Vorobyov said 185 drones were destroyed or brought down over the region. Early figures on injuries differed across updates; Meduza later cited the governor as saying nine people were injured and 47 private homes were damaged in seven municipalities.
Vorobyov said a 71-year-old man's body was recovered from a collapsed house and a 20-year-old man was killed in a nearby village. Reuters identified the younger victim's village as Radumlya in the Solnechnogorsk district.
War blogger Yuri Podolyaka and Ukrainian monitoring channels said an oil tank at the Volodarskaya storage site, described as the region's largest, was hit. Russian officials quoted by Reuters did not independently detail that damage in the main dispatch.
Russia has intensified strikes on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities in recent days. Neither side's battlefield claims about interceptions were independently verified in the reports used here.
