Saudi civil aviation officials said attacks on airports in Abha and Riyadh killed three people and wounded dozens. The Houthis claimed the strikes.

Attacks on two Saudi airports killed three people and wounded dozens, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation said, the BBC reported. Two people were killed and 28 wounded at Abha International Airport. One person was killed and eight wounded at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The authority said the airports were attacked on 6 and 7 October and did not say which strike fell on which day. It identified the Abha dead as Moroccan and Algerian women and the Riyadh dead as a Sudanese man. It did not name a perpetrator.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the group's forces attacked both airports with ballistic missiles and drones, the BBC reported. The Wall Street Journal said the strikes were claimed by the Houthis and wounded 36 people in total.

The attacks sit inside renewed fighting between Saudi-backed Yemeni forces and the Iran-aligned Houthis. Saudi Arabia is not assigning blame in the civil-aviation statement the BBC quoted.

The casualty figures are official Saudi counts reported by the BBC and the Journal. They are not an independent forensic total.
