Houthi forces fired missiles at airports in Najran and Jizan, wounding three people, as Yemeni officials said coalition troops had taken towns near the Bab el-Mandeb strait.

Yemeni officials said Saudi-led coalition forces had recaptured areas around the Bab el-Mandeb strait from Iran-aligned Houthi fighters, including the towns of Dhubab, Bab and Hadeid. Al Jazeera reported the claims.

Wikipedia's current-events portal, citing Al Jazeera, said the Houthis launched missiles at the airports of Najran and Jizan in Saudi Arabia, causing material damage and wounding three people.

The strait links the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and is a main route for commercial shipping. Officials quoted in roundups said the fighting could affect oil supply routes, though no independent shipping tally was attached to Tuesday's reports.

The claims come from parties to the conflict and have not been confirmed by a neutral observer in the sources used here. Houthi and coalition statements on control of individual towns have shifted during the current offensive.

No ceasefire announcement followed the reported airport strikes. Just Security's 6 October brief also recorded the coalition claim of recaptured towns near the strait.
