President Donald Trump said Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton will lead a Super Intelligence Force to coordinate federal engagement with AI companies and infrastructure.
President Donald Trump named Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to lead a White House group he called the Super Intelligence Force, CNN reported from a Sunday announcement.
Trump said the task force would coordinate government engagement with consumers, public-interest groups, religious organisations, infrastructure providers and AI companies, and that it would report to him and chief of staff Susie Wiles.
Nextgov reported that the group has 120 days to analyse AI risks and opportunities. Its vice chairs are Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Emil Michael, Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson. Members include Vice-President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
External advisers include David Sacks, who earlier served as Trump's AI and crypto adviser, and former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, Nextgov reported.
The administration has begun referring to AI as super intelligence after an executive order last month. The reports did not publish a budget or a list of binding rules.
