Samsung’s third-quarter guidance put consolidated operating profit at about 107.40 trillion won and sales at about 195 trillion won, far above the year-earlier quarter.

Samsung Electronics said on 8 October that its third-quarter 2026 earnings guidance puts consolidated operating profit at about 107.40 trillion won and consolidated sales at about 195 trillion won. The figures are medians under Korean disclosure rules. The company put the sales range at 194 trillion to 196 trillion won and the operating-profit range at 107.3 trillion to 107.5 trillion won.

The comparison figures Samsung published show second-quarter 2026 sales of 171.5 trillion won and operating profit of 89.49 trillion won. In the third quarter of 2025, sales were 86.06 trillion won and operating profit was 12.17 trillion won. Yonhap reported the guidance as a quarterly record and said profit was up 782.5 percent from a year earlier, tying the result to AI-related semiconductor demand.

The release is guidance, not audited results. Samsung said the estimates follow K-IFRS and that Korean rules do not allow a range to be presented as the headline figure. It did not break out chip, mobile or display profit in the guidance notice.

BusinessKorea reported that the KOSPI still closed lower on Thursday, at 6,625.93, down 177.97 points, or 2.62 percent, from 6,803.90. It said Samsung shares closed at 262,000 won, down 6,500 won, after touching 270,000 won, with foreign selling and the end of a buyback cited as factors on an options-expiry day. Those market figures are BusinessKorea’s account, not Samsung’s.

Full results and a division breakdown have not been published in the guidance. Yonhap’s summary described the profit figure as another quarterly record.

  • Yonhap attributed the profit jump to AI-related semiconductor demand.
  • BusinessKorea said foreign and institutional selling still pulled the KOSPI lower despite the guidance.
