The House of Representatives unanimously passed the Satu Data Indonesia bill on Tuesday, creating a presidential data body and a national catalog while leaving databases with their original agencies.

Indonesia's House of Representatives passed the Satu Data Indonesia bill into law on Tuesday after all eight factions agreed, Tempo reported.

Speaker Puan Maharani asked the chamber whether the bill could be enacted. Lawmakers answered that they agreed. The vote followed a working-committee report on talks held from 23 September to 5 October.

The law sets up National Basic Data, a One Data operating body that reports to the president, and a national data catalog. Interoperability rules leave physical databases with the agencies that already hold them, Tempo said.

Sturman Panjaitan, chair of the working committee, presented the deliberation report before the decision. No implementing regulation had been published at the time of the report.

The bill still requires the remaining enactment steps under Indonesian procedure. Tempo did not report a presidential signature on Tuesday.
