Anduril said it will put $3.7 billion into Arsenal-2 at Sparrows Point, with a Navy contract of up to $2.9 billion, to build Virginia-class components from 2030.

Anduril said President Donald Trump announced Arsenal-2, a yard at Tradepoint Atlantic in Baltimore County that will make parts for Virginia-class submarines. The company said it will invest $3.7 billion and that the Navy has awarded a contract of up to $2.9 billion, with payments tied to demonstrated production.

The company said the site will create 3,100 direct jobs and support more than 11,000 indirect jobs, and that it expects about $2 billion in annual economic output, including an estimated $312 million in wages. Permitting and site preparation are to start immediately, with first operations aimed at 2030.

Defense One, reporting from Sparrows Point, said the yard will build components such as torpedo tubes for delivery to General Dynamics Electric Boat and HII Newport News, the prime submarine builders. It said Trump told the event that taxpayers would receive about a 40 percent stake in a new subsidiary that will operate the yard, without further detail.

Anduril said the yard sits in the Sparrows Point complex, with road, rail and water links to the two submarine yards. It also said a 160,000-square-foot site in Orange County, California, will test methods and produce early torpedo tubes before the Maryland plant opens.

Construction still depends on approvals. The figures are company and contract commitments, not completed production.
