The United States men's team beat Mexico 3-0 in a friendly in Glendale, Arizona, with 17-year-old Cavan Sullivan scoring the youngest goal in USMNT history.
The United States beat Mexico 3-0 on Saturday night in an international friendly at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the 80th meeting between the teams. US Soccer listed goals from Julian Hall in the 28th minute, Cavan Sullivan in the 62nd and Malik Tillman in the 84th.
Associated Press reported Sullivan, at 17 years and five days, became the youngest scorer in US men's national team history. He intercepted a loose pass from Mexico goalkeeper Jose Rangel and lofted the ball into the net. Hall, 18, scored after Gio Reyna's cross deflected off the goalkeeper.
Mauricio Pochettino coached the United States and Rafael Marquez coached Mexico. AP said Mexico had more of the crowd and the early play before the US took control. It was the first meeting since Mexico won the 2025 Gold Cup final 2-1.
The friendly does not change a competition table. Both teams return to their next scheduled national-team fixtures separately from this result.
