Tommy Novak scored twice, including the overtime winner, as Pittsburgh blew a four-goal lead and still beat Montreal 6-5.

Tommy Novak scored twice, including the winner at 1:33 of overtime, as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Montreal Canadiens 6-5 on Saturday night after giving up a four-goal lead, Reuters reported.

Evgeni Malkin finished with a goal and two assists. His cross to Novak on a two-on-one set up the overtime winner, a wrist shot over Jakub Dobes. Erik Karlsson and Kris Letang each had two assists. Ben Kindel, Declan Carlile and Samuel Girard also scored for Pittsburgh, which had opened its season with a win over Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Dobes stopped 24 shots for Montreal. Reuters did not list Montreal's goal scorers in the roundup excerpt reviewed for this brief.

The same roundup reported Carolina beating Philadelphia 3-2 in overtime on Shayne Gostisbehere's power-play goal, and San Jose beating Los Angeles 5-4 in overtime on Igor Chernyshov's second goal. Those were separate games.

No injury update from the Pittsburgh-Montreal game was included in the Reuters item.
