The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya ended with China first on 341 medals, host Japan second on 269, South Korea third on 150 and India fourth on 85.

The 20th Asian Games in Japan's Aichi-Nagoya region closed on Sunday with China again at the top of the medal table. Khel Now's final tally listed China on 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze, for 341 medals. The same table placed host Japan second with 83 gold, 95 silver and 91 bronze, a total of 269.

South Korea finished third with 39 gold and 150 medals overall. India was fourth with 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze, 85 medals in all, ahead of Uzbekistan on 70. A Sunday Guardian compilation reported the same leading totals and noted China has topped every Asian Games medal table since 1982.

Japan was competing at a home Asian Games for the third time, after Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. Its 269 medals were the largest haul among the hosts' historical home editions cited in that coverage. India's 85 medals were below the 107 it won in Hangzhou, including 28 gold, Khel Now reported.

Competition on the final day included equestrian jumping before the closing ceremony. Organisers moved from the last medal events to the formal close of the Games in Japan on Sunday evening.

No further medal events remain in Aichi-Nagoya. National Olympic committees will now turn to reviews of their campaigns and to qualification paths for later championships.
