The 20th Asian Games, held in Aichi and Nagoya, were scheduled to close on Sunday, 4 October 2026, at Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium. Sportstar said the ceremony was set for 6 p.m. local time, 2:30 p.m. in India.
India ended fourth with 85 medals: 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze, Sportstar reported. That was short of the 107 medals India won in Hangzhou. Shooter Neeru Dhanda, who took three medals and became the first Indian woman to win individual trap gold at the Asian Games, was named one of India’s flag-bearers.
The Olympic Council of Asia had listed 19 September as the opening and 4 October as the close. Doha is scheduled to host the next Games in 2030.
In India the ceremony was due on Sony Sports Network, Sony LIV and DD Sports. A Sportstar live page published before the start said about an hour remained.
