The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games ended on 4 October. Yonhap's final top standings put China first with 169 golds, Japan second and South Korea third. India was fourth with 85 medals.

The 20th Asian Games closed in Nagoya on Sunday after two weeks of competition, Xinhua reported. Yonhap News Agency published final medal standings from Nagoya dated 4 October.

China finished first with 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze medals, 341 in total, Yonhap said. Japan was second with 83 gold, 95 silver and 91 bronze. South Korea placed third with 39 gold, 43 silver and 68 bronze.

India was fourth with 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze, 85 medals overall, according to Yonhap. Uzbekistan was fifth with 70 medals. Xinhua said China's gold haul was its best at an overseas Asian Games and its 12th consecutive time topping the gold table.

Xinhua named Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson and Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi as the men's and women's most valuable players. The Hindu reported the closing followed record performances alongside complaints about organization, crowds and mishaps, but those operational claims were not repeated in the Yonhap medal file.

The games were held in Japan's Aichi-Nagoya region. No further medal revisions were reported in the Yonhap standings used here.
