The Turkish defense ministry said a roadmap with France covers hybrid threats, intelligence sharing, air defense, joint exercises and industry projects.

Turkey and France have signed a roadmap to put defense and security cooperation on a more institutional footing, ministry spokesperson Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk said at a weekly briefing in Kocaeli on Thursday, TRT World reported.

The roadmap calls for regular defense consultations, more work on hybrid threats, intelligence sharing and air defense, and better interoperability, the ministry said. It also covers joint training, academy exchanges, port visits and exercises by land, naval and air forces.

On industry, the two sides aim at joint projects, technology sharing and more contact between defense companies. Meetings are to alternate between Ankara and Paris, with the first planned for the last quarter of 2026 if both sides agree.

Daily Sabah carried the same ministry account from the briefing at Golcuk Naval Shipyard, held as the site marked its 100th anniversary. A separate French government text was not quoted in these reports.

The row records the ministry's announcement of a roadmap, not a completed weapons contract.
