Polling stations across Quebec are open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET on 5 October as voters elect the next National Assembly.
Quebecers are voting on Monday 5 October 2026 to choose members of the National Assembly. CBC News reported that polling stations open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. ET.
Employers must give workers at least four consecutive hours to vote without cutting pay or imposing another penalty, CBC said, citing provincial rules. Voters were mailed notice of where to vote, including a bilingual reminder card issued after a provincial judge’s order.
Advance polls from 25 September to 1 October drew just over a quarter of electors, 25.59 percent, according to CBC. Accepted identification includes a Quebec driver’s licence, health-insurance card, Canadian passport, Indian status card or Canadian Forces identification.
CBC’s election-night coverage was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET on television, radio and digital streams and to continue until it is clear who will form the next government.
This report covers voting day only. Results were not final at the time of writing, and seat counts are omitted until election officials publish them.
