Governor Andrei Vorobyov said overnight Ukrainian drone attacks killed two people and injured nine in the Moscow region. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 650 drones were launched and most were downed.

Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said on Tuesday that overnight Ukrainian drone attacks killed two people and injured nine more in the region, according to Just Security's early edition, which attributed the account to the governor.

Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 650 drones were launched and that most were downed. A Democracy Now brief carried by Havana Times said a warehouse was set on fire and described the raid as Ukraine's second-largest drone attack yet on the Russian capital.

The reports did not independently publish a Ukrainian military confirmation of the Moscow-region casualty figures in the sources used here. Casualty and interception totals therefore rest on Russian regional and city officials.

The attack comes as both sides continue long-range strikes. Separate reporting on Tuesday said Ukraine has claimed large damage to Russian refining capacity; that claim is not treated here as confirmed by the drone-attack accounts.

Just Security also noted a Ukrainian claim that a Russian drone sank a ship in Romanian waters. That incident is distinct from the Moscow-region deaths.
