UMB Financial reported third-quarter net income of $272.3 million, or $3.56 per diluted share, up 51% from a year earlier, on revenue of $772.4 million, and declared a $0.50 quarterly common dividend.

UMB Financial Corporation reported third-quarter 2026 net income available to common shareholders of $272.3 million, or $3.56 per diluted share, an increase of 51 percent from the third quarter of 2025.

Third-quarter revenue totalled $772.4 million, up 13.9 percent from a year earlier, with net interest income of $540.0 million, up 13.7 percent, and noninterest income of $232.4 million, up 14.3 percent. The net interest margin on a fully taxable equivalent basis was 3.32 percent, up 28 basis points from a year earlier, return on average assets was 1.53 percent and return on average common equity was 13.83 percent. Average loans rose 11.1 percent on a linked-quarter annualised basis to $41.7 billion, gross loan production was $3.1 billion, and average deposits rose 4.4 percent on the same basis to $58.2 billion.

The company attributed the performance to double-digit growth in net interest income and noninterest income, an expanded margin, improved efficiency and higher returns, with momentum following its Heartland Financial acquisition. The board also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.50 per share on common stock, payable January 4, 2027 to stockholders of record on December 10, 2026, and a dividend on its Series B preferred stock.

The headline profit, earnings per share and revenue figures are confirmed in the company's own earnings release, and Zacks corroborates the $3.56 earnings per share, beating its $3.22 consensus estimate. Trackers list a different revenue figure of $781.07 million, so this story uses the company's release figure of $772.4 million and does not treat the tracker figure as the reported result.

The result adds to a run of earnings beats for the Kansas City-based bank, with loan and deposit growth and a lower efficiency ratio of 48.71 percent, against 58.09 percent a year earlier, pointing to scale from the Heartland deal. Management will discuss the quarter on a shareholder conference call on October 28, with investor presentation materials filed alongside the release.
