PPG Industries reported record third-quarter adjusted earnings of $2.25 a share on $4.35 billion in sales and raised the midpoint of its full-year earnings guidance.

PPG Industries reported record third-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings of $2.25 per diluted share, up 6 percent from $2.13 a year earlier, and raised the midpoint of its full-year adjusted earnings guidance while narrowing the range to $7.90 to $8.10. The coatings maker said the result beat analyst expectations and marked a record quarter for adjusted earnings.

Net sales rose 7 percent to $4.353 billion from $4.082 billion a year earlier, with organic sales up 5 percent, marking a seventh consecutive quarter of organic growth. Reported net income from continuing operations rose 7 percent to $473 million, or $2.12 per diluted share, from $444 million, or $1.96, a year earlier. Adjusted net income from continuing operations increased 4 percent to $502 million, and adjusted EBITDA was $793 million, or 18.2 percent of sales, consistent with the prior-year margin.

By segment, Performance Coatings net sales were $1,554 million with segment income of $332 million, Global Architectural Coatings net sales were $1,055 million with segment income of $225 million, and Industrial Coatings net sales were $1,744 million with segment income of $200 million. Industrial Coatings sales grew 5 percent even as that segment's EBITDA declined 11 percent. Cash from operating activities reached approximately $1.2 billion year to date, about $100 million higher than a year earlier, and the company repurchased roughly $150 million of shares in the quarter.

PPG's own release carries the full tables behind these figures, and dpa-AFX and Zacks report the same sales and earnings totals, including $4.353 billion in sales against $4.082 billion a year earlier. For the final quarter, management guided to low single-digit organic sales growth with adjusted EBITDA margin flat to up 100 basis points year over year.

The quarter extends a run of pricing-led growth: higher selling prices and volumes, along with favorable currency translation and acquisitions, drove the sales increase, while organic growth outpaced the industry by 300 basis points according to management. The $7.90 to $8.10 full-year range is now the yardstick for the final quarter, with Industrial Coatings margins the soft spot to watch.
