Jio Platforms shares opened at ₹1,358 on the NSE and BSE on October 28, a 21.36 percent premium to the ₹1,119 issue price of its ₹30,213-crore IPO, pushing its market capitalization above ₹12.5 lakh crore.
Jio Platforms, the digital and telecom arm of Reliance Industries, listed on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange on October 28 at ₹1,358 per share.
The opening price represented a 21.36 percent premium, or ₹239, over the IPO issue price of ₹1,119. The ₹30,213-crore offering, India’s largest ever, had been subscribed 22.19 times and fully booked within 95 minutes of opening earlier in the month.
At the listing price the company reached a market capitalization of approximately ₹12.5 lakh crore, making it India’s second-most valuable listed firm after parent Reliance Industries and ahead of Bharti Airtel. Akash Ambani, managing director, described the investor response as unprecedented during the bell-ringing ceremony attended by Mukesh Ambani and other family members.
Listing prices and subscription multiples are confirmed by Forbes India, Moneycontrol, Economic Times and exchange data. The primary IPO documents set the price band and issue size. No official revision of the opening price has been issued.
The debut underscores continued investor appetite for India’s digital infrastructure. Subsequent trading and any earnings updates will determine whether the premium holds.
