Trimurti Films has set a November 6 return for the 1994 Hindi action thriller, but director Rajiv Rai says the remastered film’s run will be limited to single-screen theatres rather than a nationwide multiplex release.

The 1994 Hindi action thriller “Mohra” is set to return to Indian cinemas on November 6 in a remastered 4K version, more than three decades after its original release. Trimurti Films confirmed the date in a teaser on its official YouTube channel, with current coverage from Filmfare and Hindustan Times reporting the announcement.

The release plan is narrower than some early “box-office clash” headlines suggested. Director Rajiv Rai told NDTV that the re-release is intended as a limited, phased run across single-screen theatres, not a nationwide multiplex launch. He said the film may not screen in Mumbai; a complete city-by-city list of participating cinemas has not been published.

Directed by Rajiv Rai and produced by Gulshan Rai, the original film starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Naseeruddin Shah. Its plot follows a prisoner seeking justice who becomes entangled in a larger conspiracy, with a supporting cast that includes Paresh Rawal and Gulshan Grover.

The soundtrack remains a major part of the film’s identity, including “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast” and “Tip Tip Barsa Paani.” The 4K return offers longtime fans another chance to see the title in a cinema, while the limited single-screen plan means actual access will depend on local theatre schedules rather than a broad multiplex release.
