Samsung Electronics estimated July-September operating profit at 107.4 trillion won, up 782.5 percent from a year earlier, and revenue at 195 trillion won. The company did not break the figure down by division.
Samsung Electronics estimated third-quarter operating profit at 107.4 trillion won, about $79.8 billion, in guidance released Thursday, Yonhap reported from Seoul. That is 782.5 percent higher than a year earlier.
Revenue is estimated at 195 trillion won, up 126.6 percent from a year earlier. Net profit was not included in the guidance. Yonhap Infomax said the operating-profit estimate was 1.6 percent above the average market forecast.
If confirmed, the quarter would be a fourth straight record for both revenue and operating profit, dating to the last three months of 2025. Yonhap said it would also be the first time a South Korean company has reported quarterly operating profit above 100 trillion won.
Samsung did not give a division breakdown. Yonhap said the device-solutions unit, which includes semiconductors, is believed to have accounted for a dominant share, on demand for chips tied to artificial intelligence.
The figures are guidance, not audited results. No dividend or investment change was announced in the Yonhap report.
