BMW unveiled the iX4 on Thursday, an electric coupe-SUV it said can reach an estimated 428 miles on a 112.2 kWh battery, with US sales set for March 2027.
BMW unveiled the iX4 on Thursday, an all-electric replacement for the X4 and the third model in its Neue Klasse line after the iX3 and i3. Electrek reported that the coupe-SUV is scheduled to go on sale in March 2027 as the iX4 50 xDrive, with an M60 xDrive version to follow.
BMW said the iX4 50 xDrive has an estimated range of up to 428 miles from a 112.2 kWh battery and its sixth-generation eDrive system. On the WLTP cycle the figure is up to 828 kilometres, or 514 miles. Electrek said the US starting price is north of 66,000 dollars.
Both versions use an 800-volt architecture and can add up to 184 miles of range in 10 minutes at charging speeds of up to 400 kilowatts, Electrek reported. BMW said a charge from 10 percent to 21 percent takes 21 minutes.
The iX4 uses the Neue Klasse design with a lower roofline than the iX3. Images of the car had circulated earlier in the week before the official debut on 8 October.
Sales have not started. The range figures are manufacturer estimates, and March 2027 is the company's stated US launch window.
