Subaru’s U.S. 2027 Outback lineup restores a lower-priced base trim with standard all-wheel drive and a 12.1-inch touchscreen; most higher trims also receive MSRP reductions.
Subaru of America has published U.S. pricing for the 2027 Outback, bringing back a base trim at $32,995 MSRP. The model is due at retailers later in 2026. Subaru lists destination and delivery at $1,545 for most states, so the advertised MSRP is not the final pre-tax total; Alaska has a different delivery charge.
The base model uses a 2.5-liter, 180-horsepower SUBARU BOXER engine with a continuously variable transmission and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Standard equipment includes 8.7 inches of ground clearance, X-MODE with hill-descent control, EyeSight driver assistance, DriverFocus distraction mitigation, a 12.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats and a power rear gate. Cargo volume is 34.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 80.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded; towing is rated up to 2,700 pounds when properly equipped.
The Premium starts at $34,995; Limited at $39,995; Touring at $43,495; Limited XT at $43,595; Touring XT at $46,595; and Wilderness at $43,995. Premium holds its previous MSRP, while most other trims fall: Limited by $1,720, Touring by $1,900, Limited XT by $770, Touring XT by $1,400 and Wilderness by $1,000. A 260-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter engine is available on the XT and Wilderness variants, so the equipment and powertrain depend on the trim.
The meaningful change is the restored entry point without removing core screen, safety and all-wheel-drive equipment. Buyers should still compare destination charges, option packages and trim-specific features rather than treating $32,995 as an all-in price.
