Bestway Automotive has introduced Geely in Pakistan with three electrified models and plans for local assembly, but Pakistan-market prices, booking dates and final specifications remain unannounced.
Bestway Group introduced Geely Auto to Pakistan at a launch event in Islamabad on Saturday, positioning the Chinese automaker’s first South Asian market entry around three new-energy vehicles: the EX2 compact electric hatchback, the EX5 electric SUV and the Starray EM-i. Bestway Automotive will act as the authorised distributor and handle sales and after-sales support, according to Dawn’s October 25 report.
The rollout is expected to begin with imported vehicles while Bestway prepares its acquired Port Qasim facility in Karachi for local assembly. Business Recorder’s launch report, attributed to a press release, describes the partnership as a longer-term distribution and support initiative. Local coverage also reports plans for a charging network and greater localisation, but those ambitions should not be confused with completed local production.
One important gap for buyers is that launch coverage did not provide Pakistan-market prices, booking dates or a complete official specification sheet. Local reports also describe the Starray’s powertrain differently: one calls it range-extended electric, while another describes it as a plug-in hybrid. Until Bestway or Geely publishes the Pakistan-market specification, the exact local configuration should be treated as unconfirmed.
The significance is therefore broader than the launch of any single model. A new distributor, potential local assembly, charging infrastructure and dependable after-sales support will matter alongside range, price and warranty. Specifications published by Geely in other markets may differ, so buyers should wait for Pakistan-specific pricing, equipment, warranty terms and booking information before comparing the three vehicles on value.
